At RustBlasters, we offer a multi-layer protection system to ensure your vehicle’s frame stays Treated & Protected for years to come. Here's how we do it:

1. Turbo Nozzle Precision Pressure Wash

We begin with an industrial-strength pressure wash of the full undercarriage, including the frame, front & rear suspension, rear end, under cab, under box,  to remove:

• Dirt packed inside the frame

• Salt, oil, & winter road grime

• Loose debris & rust flakes

• Old undercoating that's failing or trapping moisture

​**Spare Tire Removal Included (trucks).  We drop the spare to expose hidden surfaces and clean areas most shops ignore.**

Why it matters: Rust accelerates when dirt and salt remain trapped against the metal. A spotless surface is the foundation for every subsequent chemical step.

2)  Manual & Mechanical Descaling (If Required)

We mechanically remove:

• Flaking rust

• Loose scale

• Failing coatings

Using wire wheels, chisels, scrapers, and specialty tools.

Why it matters:  Protective coatings must bond to solid metal or light surface rust — not crumbly rust that will fall off later.

Budget: 1–4 hours @ $225/hr = $225–$900  (Some trucks caught early may skip this step.)

 

3)  Corroseal Rust Converter + Primer

We apply Corroseal to the entire underside of the vehicle:

• Full frame

• Undercarriage & floors

• Brake lines

• Rear end & suspension

• Front steering components & springs

• Shackles, leaf springs, crossmembers

Corroseal chemically converts rust into black magnetite while laying down a primer base.

Why it matters:  This stops rust at the chemical level and prevents it from spreading under your topcoats.

Budget: 5 hours labour @ $225/hr = $1,125

Materials: Corroseal = $325 per gallon

 

4)  DTM (Direct‑to‑Metal) Protective Paint

After a dry time, we coat the entire treated area with industrial‑grade DTM paint designed to bond to:

• Bare steel

• Converted rust

• Primed surfaces

Why it matters:  This creates a hard, corrosion‑resistant shell that stands up to moisture, winter salt, and road abrasion — protecting the rust killer underneath.

Budget: 5–6 hours labour @ $225/hr = $1,125–$1,350

Materials: DTM paint = $325 per gallon

Total: ~$1,675

Low End (no descaling):

5 )  OPTIONAL – Platinum Undercoating

We apply a premium undercoating for:

• Impact resistance

• Vibration dampening

• Protection from chips, salt, and road debris

**Masking is extra as all vehicles are different: possibly 1-1.5 hrs, if necessary, @ $170 per hr**

We mask exhaust, heat shields, sensors, & any components that must remain serviceable. We do not blindly spray everything black — we are selective, precise, & careful. Additional cost could be as high as $225; regardless, we cover the entire vehicle with poly from front to back & seal the poly before applying the undercoat. No overspray = happy customer.

We also drop the spare tire to undercoat the rear box & treat/coat the inside of the front & rear bumpers, as experience shows these rot from the inside out.

Why it matters:  This is your outer armour — the layer or coating protecting your frame, so the paint doesn’t have to even try, which it can't.

Budget: 3–4 hours @ $325/hr (includes Platinum Shield product)

Total: $975–$1,300 (**as noted above, masking is extra**)

6) OPTIONAL – Internal Frame Corroseal Rust Killer

For maximum protection, we treat the inside of the boxed frame, crossmembers, & inner rockers.

Once the inner rockers rust, replacing them costs $3,000 per side. If we catch them early, rust killer + wax can extend their life indefinitely. 

We inject Corroseal through all access points to kill rust from the inside out.

Budget:

•  Costs vary: the more we do, the more the cost, the better the protection against costly future rust repairs

• 2.5  hrs @ $225/hr = $562.50

• Corroseal (2 liters): $162.50 ➡ Total: $725

 

7. OPTIONAL – Internal Frame Cavity Wax

Using custom wands, we fog the inside of your boxed frame with a self‑healing cavity wax.

This protects the internal rust killer the same way DTM paint protects the outside. Inside the frame, we use Platinum Wax — creating a barrier against the mud and dirt that WILL get back in there.

This protects your frame from the inside out, indefinitely.

Cost: Varies 

•  Budget 2.5 hrs - Estimate (the more we do, the better protection, the more it costs) @ $225/hr = Budget  $562.50

• Cavity wax: 2 liters @ $60/liter = $120

Total: $634.50

Why it matters:  Most rust starts inside the frame, where you can’t see it. Cavity wax creeps into seams, welds, and hidden pockets to permanently block moisture.
